Spotlight on Austin

It’s also been really fun watching Austin grow up before my eyes.  I still remember the days when I was toting him around in a baby carrier and now he’s so heavy I can barely lift him anymore.  Austin is a very patient and kind big brother who does a great job of looking out for Katie and protecting her.  Though he spends most of his time playing make believe Star Wars games with Ethan, he often warms my heart by suddenly stating that he wants to play something that Katie can play with them too.

In addition to loving all things Star Wars related and enjoying zipping around on his bicycle, Austin is quite interested in the piano.  He and Ethan have a piano lesson once a week at their Japanese school and I also hear him plunking out various songs by memory (such as — you guessed it — the Star Wars theme song and Darth Vader’s Imperial march) on our piano keyboard several times a day.

Austin is also developing into quite a reader and he loves building stuff  with materials like Legos and K’nex blocks.
